In the exclusive Kurhaus district in the center of Wiesbaden, a new lively quarter for living and working is currently being created.
The Kureck project includes the Taunusstrasse 3 property located on the elegant plaza of the extensive area.
When planning the building concept, the lead architect Max Dudler placed great emphasis on the influence of elegant elements from different eras.
The classic design of the exterior façade is broken architecturally by recurring modern elements.
In addition to the aesthetical stylistic breaks, the project stands out from comparable commercially used buildings due to the focus factor performance, which is to be covered by the lighting system.
For this reason, the architect is supported by a strong team consisting of ubisys technologies GmbH, hatec Lichttechnik GmbH, and Signify for the implementation of a lighting control system.
The intelligent and networked solution from ubisys is an addition to the automated luminaires provided by hatec and Signify. In combination, the suppliers create an efficient and sustainable lighting system that offers the building a future-oriented added value.
192 LED lights installed with Philips Easy Air SNS300 sensors and Philips Xitanium SR drivers communicate via nine gateways developed by ubisys.
On each of the five floors, an ubisys Gateway G1 provides the necessary security for communication between the sensors responsible for the lighting.
In Coordinating mode over the air updates are possible via the ubisys Gateway G1. For the user, this offers the desired flexibility in terms of building control and monitoring the lighting system.
The decisive factor in avoiding high energy costs and conserving resources in a building is presence and daylight detection included in each of the SNS300 sensors.
Inside sensors detect the natural incidence of light and automatically adjust the artificial lighting level up or down to achieve the desired target value.
Sustainability is a key in this project, all lights switching off automatically after a dwell time when not in use.
Lighting can also be operated by general control in the building. After interventing manual in the system, the automation system resets itself and restarts after a holding period.
In summary, the cooperation of ubisys, hatec, and Signify creates a unique building project with a state-of-the-art lighting solution for a mixed office and commercial building.
